This elegant women's washable komon kimono features the traditional Genji-ko motif, inspired by The Tale of Genji, delicately embroidered against a sophisticated black background.
The Genji-ko motif originates from a traditional Japanese incense game known as Genji-ko, which is associated with the chapters of The Tale of Genji. Its graceful design reflects the elegance of classical Japanese culture and the depth of its artistic traditions.
The fabric is dyed in a refined solid black, and skilled Kyoto artisans carefully select embroidery threads that harmonize with the background color, creating each motif with great attention to detail.
The delicate embroidery stands out beautifully against the black fabric, adding depth and elegance without appearing overly extravagant.
This kimono offers a wonderful way to enjoy a traditional Japanese motif with a contemporary sense of style.
Fabric Features
The fabric is made with Shine-Up, a photocatalytic deodorizing material developed by Kuraray Co., Ltd.
It features a dual deodorizing system that combines photocatalytic action and chemical adsorption, helping to reduce unwanted odors such as perspiration, tobacco, and pet odors.
The deodorizing components are incorporated directly into the fiber material during production, helping the fabric maintain its deodorizing performance even after repeated washing.
Although made of 100% polyester, the fabric has a soft, silk-like texture and an elegant sheen. It is also resistant to wrinkles and easy to care for at home.
Depending on how you coordinate it with an obi sash and other accessories, this kimono can be enjoyed for a variety of occasions, including tea gatherings, Japanese cultural lessons, parties, and everyday outings.
