Inspired by the enchanting world of fairy tales, this washable kimono features delicate embroidery on a soft, pale yellow-green background known in Japanese as usuhiiwa-iro.
The theme is “Midnight Ball,” evoking the magical moment when a happy princess sets off for an evening celebration. The gentle green shade and carefully coordinated embroidery create a graceful, elegant look with a touch of storybook charm.
This original design from Kyoto Kimono Kobo combines traditional Japanese embroidery with the convenience of modern easy-care fabric, making it a distinctive choice for those who appreciate refined colors and imaginative designs.
Highlights of This Kimono
1. A Gentle Pale Green with Delicate Kyoto Embroidery
The carefully selected pale yellow-green fabric is dyed in a solid color and decorated with Japanese-style embroidery. Skilled artisans in Kyoto select thread colors that harmonize with the background, creating an elegant and sophisticated finish.
2. Made with Kuraray’s Shine Up Photocatalytic Fabric
This kimono uses Kuraray’s Shine Up fabric, designed with dual deodorizing mechanisms: adsorption and photocatalytic reactions. The material is designed to help reduce unwanted odors, including those associated with perspiration and tobacco.
3. Washable and Easy to Care For
Made from 100% polyester, this kimono is designed for convenient care at home. When machine washing, using a laundry net is recommended.
4. Domestic Tailoring and Custom Sizing Available
You can purchase the fabric as an unstitched bolt or select a finished garment. Available options include lined kimono (awase), unlined kimono (hitoe), and haori jackets in the listed styles.
Standard sizes are available, and custom sizing can be arranged for customers whose measurements do not fit the standard size chart.

Fabric Features
Kuraray’s Shine Up fabric is designed with two deodorizing mechanisms: adsorption and photocatalytic reactions. The deodorizing agent is incorporated into the fiber during production.
According to the material specifications, the fabric is designed to address a range of odors, including those associated with perspiration, tobacco, pets, and other sources. Because the deodorizing agent is incorporated into the fibers, the material is designed to retain its deodorizing performance through repeated washing.
The polyester fabric also offers the following practical features:
- A soft feel reminiscent of silk
- A smooth texture with a subtle sheen
- Resistance to wrinkling
- Antistatic treatment
- Convenient home care
Water-repellent and waterproof treatments are not applied, allowing the fabric's deodorizing properties to be utilized as intended.
