Meibutsugire pattern seen on brocade fabrics, featuring deer, horses, flying dragons, and other motifs enclosed by straight lines forming diamond shapes, diagonal patterns, or flattened octagons. Originally a woven pattern, its rich colors and expansive beauty are highly prized, leading to its use in dyeing techniques for formal kimonos like tomesode and houmongi. It is also employed as a ground pattern on white fabric.
